Recently I’ve been in awe of all the rare, unique (and often funky!) gems that don’t get the appreciation they deserve, but have so much beauty in their own right. They each have fascinating stories and their merits warrant a moment on center stage…
Green Zircon Green Zircon is the most rare and unusual color of Zircon, which is known to occur in many colors of the rainbow. Green Zircon is found exclusively in Sri Lanka because it has special circumstances under which Zircon can turn green. Zircon is believed to foster riches, honor, and wisdom. Roger loves Green Zircon because of its wide variety of shades, renowned sparkle, and incredible rarity
Oregon Sunstone Sunstone, famous as the Gem of Positivity and Joy, is coveted for its unique orange to red color found only in Oregon. It has a phenomenon called “aventurescence” (bright metallic flashes) that comes from tiny plate-like inclusions of red or orange colored copper interacting with light. Roger loves Sunstone because of its unique appearance you cannot find in any other natural gemstone!
Chrysoberyl Roger especially loves collecting Chrysoberyl from Sri Lanka because of their characteristic tangy and luminous yellowish-green color. Chrysoberyl is rare becuase it needs beryllium, a rare element in the earth, in order to form. Chrysoberyl boasts both extraordinary brilliance and hardness and promotes self-control, discipline, and striving for excellence.
